Burnside Speech Pathology Options
The therapists at Burnside Speech Pathology, Trish, Kate and Katelin are committed to working with infants, preschool children, and school age children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Developmental Disability and complex medical conditions, within a fun child centred framework, and in close liaison with parents, extended family, child care, kindergarten and school staff.
Our therapists regularly attend professional development conferences and seminars to ensure that our therapy approach is supported by research and evidence of efficacy.
We work closely with other professions to ensure that all your child’s needs are met. We have a close working relationship with the therapists at Thrive Occupation Naomi Quick and Ali Chisholm, and with Kelly Kerr Physiotherapist at A Bright Choice Paediatric Physiotherapy. We also work closely with Paediatricians, General Practicioners, Audiologists, Dieticians, Social workers, teachers and child care providers.
Value of Communication
Communication is more than the words we use to talk. It encompasses our facial expressions, our gestures, our body language and our joint interaction with others. Communication enables us to be able to express our thoughts and feelings and have our needs met.
“The way we communicate with others and with ourselves ultimately determines the quality of our lives”. Anthony Robins
Communication is a skill that you can learn. It’s like riding a bicycle or typing. If you’re willing to work at it, you can rapidly improve the quality of every part of your life”. Brian Tracy
